The Wand in Wicca
Wands are used to invoke the God and Goddess, to direct energy, for drawing symbols, stirring the cauldron and in casting a circle. Traditionally, the wand is made from wood and will be endowed with the magical qualities of the particular species of wood chosen. However, wands can be made from any materials including metal or stone. Wands are sometimes set with gemstones or crystals. Many Wiccans individualize their wands by adding symbols, crystals or ribbons depending on the ceremony, spell or simply to personalize it. The wand is representative of the element of Air.
