Atticus Finch: The Perfect Man
My crush on Gregory Peck notwithstanding, it’s impossible to argue against the statement: Atticus Finch is The Perfect Man. Once you move past his looks and style and look to his character, Atticus Finch embodies all the qualities that define ‘a good man’. He is a modest, hardworking man who practices moral courage, lives with dignity, treats all people with respect, is honest to himself and others and believes in the importance of empathy. Atticus is completely devoid of arrogance and swag. He is a good son, brother, father, husband and friend. He is a real man. All men should be measured against him. Brett and Kate McKay have expanded on this topic in their article ‘Lessons in Manliness from Atticus Finch’ at www.theartofmanliness.com, it’s a fascinating read.
